What height should my child be to fit into a proper teen set?

Teen sets are designed for various heights for your junior golfer ranging from 4'10" – 5'6". They are typically the same height as a women's petite set or women's set. A standard length women's set is -1 shorter than a men's set.

What shafts are typically used on a teen set?

Most companies who are designing a proper teenager set will use a lighter weight steel shaft or graphite shaft that is similar in flexibility to a women's flex OR senior flex. The assumption is that the teenager is not going to swing extremely fast at this stage in their game so a little extra flex will help get the ball airborne with additional distance.

What steel shafts are used to create a teenager golf set?

Most of the steel shafts that are used are True Temper (Dynalite) or an Apollo shaft of similar specifications.

Why purchase a teenager set when I can just cut my own set down and hand it down to my junior golfer?

Most teenager golfers over the years have received either a women's set or a cut down men's set once they have outgrown the traditional junior golf set. This works but does not make playing the game extremely fun or easy as the shafts once cut down are often too stiff for this age group to play with and heavy.

Why are the teenager sets on this site so affordable?

If a customer wanted to buy a properly fit custom set of clubs for this age group a few years ago this category did not exist. Customers would have to special order sets from the major brands which would cost $500 - $1000. Some of the brands that are on this site are not very fancy name brands but manufacturers of a good quality product targeting a niche with an aggressive price point. Spending $1000 on a set for this age group doesn't quite make sense since teenagers will out grow them quickly.

How many seasons/years should I expect my teenager golfer to get out of a Junior teen set?

It really depends on when you purchase the set for your teenager and how tall they are at that given time. Most sets start for heights 4'10" up to 5'6". It is not a perfect science and one can stray from these heights if they would care to. Think about the sets that were available 10,20, 30 years ago for this age group (nothing)

Can I bend the lie angles on my teenager golf set to get another season out of them?

Most of the teenager set iron heads are cast in stainless steel and can be altered 2 degrees upright or flatter. Bending upright 2 degrees may provide an extra season for your teenager golf set. Most golf shops can bend an iron set for a minimal fee if they have the proper equipment (loft and lie machine)

What size grips are used on teenager golf sets

Youth golf sets which are designed for teens incorporate a smaller undersized grip compared to an adult mens grip. An undersized grip for teen sets may be similar in size to a womens grip or even a bit smaller at times.

What is the difference in a Teenager girls set vs. just the standard set that is not really gender specified?

Some manufactures, like Linksman Golf, have created sets specifically designed for teenage girls versus the standard set. A teen girl can play with either a standard set or a teen girls set. The main difference is the shafts on a girls set will typically be manufactured in graphite vs. steel with a women's flex. In addition to the shafts the clubheads and golf bags will typically have colors geared more towards a young girl (pinks and light blues)

Should my teenager play with graphite shafts or steel shafts?

We typically recommend steel shafts for teenagers for a few reasons. Teenagers can often be a little rough with their clubs vs. adults and steel shafts are stronger than graphite shafts. Also steel shafts are more controllable and may take a little more time to grow out of as the junior golfer's game becomes stronger.

We warranty all our manufacturers' teenager products against any manufacturer defects for 1 year. If you have any issue it is best to contact our customer service dept as well as email us a photo of any warranty issue you may have incurred

What is your return policy?

We offer 30 days to return the sets back to our company and the sets must be in new condition when returned. The buyer is responsible for all shipping expenses.

How quickly do you ship your teenager products?

We ship most non-custom orders same or next business day via UPS or FedEx. The buyer will receive an email with tracking information once the products have left our facility. All custom orders will take 3-5 business days to build.

What are the references to Teen tall, standard/medium and short?

For example a Tall teen may be suited for a teen that is 5'5" versus a short teen would fit a junior that is 4'10". There is a fairly large difference in heights in this category so some of the custom options are beneficial to truly fit the player.
